Maybe good to go with digital for that price and then if you want the disc drive pick it up later since they’re actually available regularly now

According to a sweeping analysis of September 2024’s hardware sales, the PS5 Disc Drive was the 21st best-selling accessory ranked by units – and eighth by revenue. Remember, these charts include DualSense controllers and the PS Portal, among a multitude of other devices.

How Good is PS5 Pro’s Boost Mode?

The video pretty much speaks for itself, with the unsurprising result being that the Pro’s output is simply better than the regular PS5’s. The game’s Pro mode renders the image at 1440p before PSSR upscales it to full 4K, targeting 60 frames-per-second.

In short, it achieves its goal of marrying the old Performance and Fidelity modes, giving players the best of both worlds.

The frame rate is very nearly flawless, with only some tiny dips during transitions in cut-scenes. Meanwhile, the image quality more than measures up to the old Fidelity mode, in many cases looking better.

Halo is Coming to PS5

343 has been renamed to Halo Studios

They’ve also switched from their in-house engine to Unreal 5

And they showed off some clips of the original Master Chief from presumably the Halo CE Remake they’ve been working on

The engine switch is interesting because building Halo in Unreal will make it much easier to port the game over to PS5 or build it with the console in mind from the beginning

I could see the strategy being “Buy Halo on PS5 and experience the rest of the series on Xbox!”

Or maybe the Halo franchise is no longer going to be Xbox Exclusive going forward
